Delete your Lispor account & data
Effective date: 5 June 2026
This page describes how to permanently delete your Lispor account and the data tied to it. You can do it yourself from inside the app, or — if you no longer have the app installed — request it by WhatsApp. Both routes end at the same place: your account and your encrypted data are gone.
1. Delete from inside the app (fastest)
If you still have the app installed:
- Open Lispor and sign in.
- Go to Profile (bottom-right tab).
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm with your vault passphrase.
Your account and all associated server-side data are scheduled for deletion immediately. The app wipes its local copy on your device before signing you out.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled Lispor or cannot sign in, send us a deletion request by WhatsApp:
- Message +255 662 635 623 on WhatsApp.
- Tell us the phone number you registered with (the one starting +255).
- We will reply on WhatsApp to confirm your identity (a short OTP-style verification to make sure no one else is requesting deletion of your account).
- Once verified, we delete your account on the same business day and confirm by message.
There is no fee. We will never ask for your vault passphrase to delete your account — anyone who does is impersonating us.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, the following are removed from our servers:
- Your user record (phone number, chosen name, authentication credentials).
- Every business (shop) you own, including all encrypted product, sale, sticker, and team records inside them.
- All wrapped encryption keys associated with your account.
- All sync state, device registrations, and active sessions.
- All subscription requests and pending payment references tied to your account.
- Any team-membership records that link you to other owners' shops are dissociated.
Local data on your device is wiped immediately when you delete from inside the app. If you delete by WhatsApp request and still have the app installed, the next time the app contacts our server it will recognize the account is gone, wipe its local database, and sign out.
4. What is retained, and why
A small amount of data is retained briefly for legitimate operational and legal reasons:
- Encrypted backup blobs in our object storage: purged within 30 days as part of our standard backup-rotation schedule. These blobs cannot be read without your passphrase, which we never have.
- Server access logs: retained for up to 14 days for security and abuse-detection purposes, then auto-deleted. Logs contain IP addresses and request paths only — no business data.
- Confirmed payment records: retained for 5 years as required by Tanzanian tax and accounting law (transaction reference, amount, date, tier — no business data). These are anonymized from your identity within 90 days of deletion where the law permits.
- Crash reports (Sentry): if any of your sessions produced a scrubbed crash report (no personal data, no business data), it is retained per Sentry's standard 90-day rolling window and then auto-deleted by Sentry. We do not export or extend these.
5. Timeline
- Immediate — your account is marked deleted, you are signed out everywhere, your team members lose access to shops you owned, and local data on your device is wiped.
- Within 24 hours — your server-side records (user, businesses, products, sales, stickers, keys, sessions) are hard-deleted from the live database.
- Within 14 days — access logs touching your account are auto-purged.
- Within 30 days — encrypted backup blobs containing your data are rotated out and overwritten.
- Within 90 days — any retained payment records are anonymized from your identity where the law permits.
6. Effect on your team
If you are the owner of one or more shops, deleting your account removes those shops and all their data for every team member you invited. Team members who were invited to other owners' shops keep their access to those shops — only your record is deleted.
7. Reinstating an account
Deletion is permanent. There is no undo, no "restore from trash". If you change your mind and want to use Lispor again, you create a fresh account from scratch — your previous data cannot be recovered, by you or by us, because it is gone.
